Chocolate Chip Walnut Pie

One of the best things in life is to eat a chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven. Cooled only enough so it doesn't burn your mouth. The gooey richness can't be beat. The next best thing is pie. So why not combine the two? This recipe is super easy and give you the best of both. (Again, the next time I make this I will take more and better pictures.)

2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
dash salt
1 1/2 sticks butter (NOT margarine) softened
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 unbaked 9" deep dish pie crust

Instructions
1)Beat eggs in bowl. Beat into eggs: flour, sugars and salt.
2)Mix in softened butter until well blended. Add chips and nuts.
3)Pour into unbaked deep dish pie crust. Protect the edges of the crust with foil. To do this easily take a square of foil, fold it in half. Center it over the pie crust and gently press around the edges. There should now be an outline of the half circle of the pie. Simply cut out the circle and lay over the pie and fold under the crust.
4)Bake at 325F for 55-60 minutes.

You will want to eat this pie while it is warm. Once the pie has completely cooled just place a slice in the microwave for about 12 seconds (it really doesn't take long.)

Whip up some fresh cream to garnish or top with a scoop of New York vanilla ice cream.
