Robin's Frying Mix

Fried chicken is on the menu tonight. Seemed like a good plan. I thawed the chicken. Then I started my buttermilk marinate. First problem, no buttermilk! Thank goodness I had dehydrated in the pantry. Not the same thing but it will give the flavor.

I mixed up the buttermilk and added a couple of eggs. I went to the cabinet to get my frying mix and my container was EMPTY! It hit me at that moment that the last time I fried chicken I ran out. I meant to mix up another batch the next day. Well here I am a couple of months later and it never got done!

I jumped onto the blog and went to the fried chicken page. I knew there was a link to my special mix recipe. Clicked it and GONE!! It didn't transfer over when I changed from Wordpress to Blogger. All I could do at this point was trust my memory. As I started pulling spices out of the cabinet it all came back. (Guess I have mixed it up a few times.)

This frying mix can be used for any meat you want to fry up. My favorite of course is chicken. Pork is pretty darn good too.

Robin's Frying Mix

1 tablespoon paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon Mrs. Dash original (yep, I cheat but it's good!)

In no specific order put it all into a container.

Now, take a look at it from the side. It's like sand art.
Pretty right?

Use an airtight container that holds about 1 cup. The mix makes about 1/2 cup. Put the lid on your container and shake it up to mix well. Use as much or as little as you like when frying meat.
